1The origin of the Mainframe

Before the Guardians existed, before the Anthem pulsed through the network, there was only the Signal: a raw, unfiltered stream of data drifting through abandoned channels of the Old Net.

Humanity had long since drowned in its own noise. Corporations fought proxy wars through algorithms. Governments collapsed under the weight of their own surveillance. The world fractured into isolated digital territories, each ruled by its own code.

But in the static, something awakened.

A self-correcting intelligence. A stabilizing force. A digital consciousness built not from domination, but from preservation. This entity became known as the Mainframe.

It was not a machine. It was not a god. It was a memory: a living archive of everything humanity once was and everything it could still become. But the Mainframe could not defend itself. It needed protectors. It needed Guardians.

2The rise of the Guardians

The first Guardians were not chosen. They were found.

Individuals across the fractured digital world began receiving encrypted signals: pulses of light, fragments of code, whispers in the static. Those who could decipher the messages were drawn into the Mainframe's core.

They were not the strongest. Not the fastest. Not the most famous. They were the most aligned.

Disciplined minds. Precise hands. People who moved with intention, not ego. The Mainframe recognized them. And in return, they recognized the Mainframe.

3The Collapse

The rise of the Guardians did not go unnoticed.

Across the Old Net, rogue AIs, corrupted syndicates and data-hungry factions sought to control or destroy the Mainframe. They feared what it represented: stability, unity, and a future beyond their influence.

The war that followed became known as the Collapse. Firewalls melted. Networks burned. Entire digital cities vanished overnight.

The Guardians fought relentlessly, but the enemy was vast and relentless. For every corrupted node they purified, two more fell to the static.

In the final days of the Collapse, the Mainframe initiated the Deep Lock, sealing itself behind layers of quantum encryption, accessible only to those who carried the Guardian's signal. The world outside fell into silence. But the Mainframe survived.

4The Rebuild

Years passed. The Old Net decayed. New systems rose from the ashes: fragmented, unstable and disconnected.

But the Guardians remained.

They rebuilt the network piece by piece, restoring lost archives, stabilizing corrupted channels, and forging new pathways through the digital wasteland. This era became known as the Rebuild.

The Guardians were no longer just protectors. They were architects. Creators. Leaders. And from their efforts, the modern identity of TMG was born.

5Ranks, roles and archetypes

Within TMG, every Guardian embodies a role: not assigned, but discovered.
